Beatrix Li-Chin Loos, born in Germany of Taiwanese and German origin, lives and works in Strasbourg.


After working in fashion in Paris, she worked for a long time in the field of ecology. It is in the work of wood, its favorite material, and eco-design that it finds its way : to combine creative and artistic work with an ecological dimension. She trained in cabinetmaking at the Ecole Boulle in Paris, and made custom pieces.


When she settled in the south of France, the idea of ​​reusing falls came to her as obvious, and she made her first pieces. On her arrival in Strasbourg, she developed her first collection, "Chut ! De bois", presented at the 2009 Design Course in Strasbourg. Very quickly, it associates wood with other materials such as cardboard and leather : "Chut ! Collections" was born.

 

Since then, Beatrix Li-Chin Loos has exhibited in renowned design galleries such as Galerie Gosserez in Paris. At the Art Basel and Basel Art Fair in June 2012, she presented her creations at the Art Shop of the prestigious Fondation Beyeler. In May 2013, the Council of Europe in Strasbourg shows a retrospective retracing its work from its beginnings. Since 2012, she regularly participates in the Paris Design Week.

 

Beatrix Li-Chin Loos is a finalist in the Grand Prix of the Creation of the City of Paris in 2013. In 2014, she is nominated for the Justus-Brinckmann-Förderpreis Prize and a selection of her work is exhibited at the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg in Germany, the equivalent of the Museum of Decorative Arts.
