
Giovanni Levanti
Giovanni Levanti was born in Palermo in 1956, he graduated in architecture from the University of Palermo in 1983. Living in Milan since 1984, he earned a master's degree in industrial design at the Domus Academy in 1985.
From 1985 to 1990 he worked for Andrea Branzi. He began his activity as an industrial designer in 1986, with the opening a few years later his own studio (1991). He currently works for well-known companies, both in Italy and abroad. Among them, we find Campeggi, Cassina, Domodinamica, Edra, Foscarini, Rec Room, Marutomi, Memphis, Pallucco, Salviati and Serafino Zani.
His objects have been selected for many international exhibitions. Multifunctional chair "Xito" designed for Campeggi in 1999, is now part of the permanent collection of the Triennale of Milan, the Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal, Canada and the Design Center Fukui, Japan. He is currently visiting at the University of Palermo and the Domus Academy in Milan professor and teaches at the ISIA (Istituto Superiore per le Industrie Artistiche) in Faenza.
